The village extends 35 kilometres north-west of the district centre.

Historical Introduction
1770 y․

Stripped of its Armenian population between the 1770s and ‘80s, the derelict village served as a summer encampment for some Turkish cattle-breeders for about a century. In the late 19th century, they shifted to a sedentary life and founded the present-day village.
